Carrie Dean, IBCLC, LMT-CST, and Cathy Walker, MA, RN, IBCLC have teamed up to deliver expert care in our new office space in Stamford, CT. We both have our own private practices in Westchester & Fairfield County. We enjoy providing virtual and in-home lactation consultations. We met several years ago at a Lactation Conference (surprise) and became fast friends. Our styles align with each other and we each bring something different to the table. We realized that together, we can bring an even higher level of care to our clients. We both have specialized training in oral rehabilitation relating to the various causes of suck dysfunction.
At Gaea Breastfeeding Center we offer judgment-free support for all stages of breastfeeding. We emphasize meeting our families where they are and creating a care plan that meets tailored needs and goals. We offer prenatal consultations, breastfeeding, and bottle-feeding support as well as back-to-work and weaning consultations. We also offer free prenatal breastfeeding classes as we value education and evidence-based knowledge. Our goal is for our families to feel confident and empowered on their infant feeding journey and the “right” plan is a plan where baby AND parent thrive.

What can you expect at an office consultation?
Health history
Evaluation of breastfeeding/lactation and a review of all your questions
A lactation-specific exam of you and your baby
A pre and post-weight of your baby to evaluate milk intake
Pump evaluation and flange fitting
Bottle skills evaluation and recommendations
You will be provided with a care plan that aligns with your goals
We collaborate with the other healthcare providers involved in your and your baby’s care
Our welcoming office is located in Stamford, CT convenient to the Merritt Parkway and the Bus line.
Carrie Dean & Cathy Walker are both attendees of the IBCLC Masterclass. This course focuses on Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad.
